EFT is gathering more and more momentum as a healing modality for both emotional and physical issues. In the UK positive articles are appearing in respected journals such as The Times and The Telegraph, leading to many more people finding out about this amazing solution at their fingertips!

And this is really just the beginning - we are only beginning to explore what is possible, beyond the 'one minute wonders', which many people are experiencing for themselves through releasing fears, phobias, pain and negative thinking. What else might be possible as we continue to develop mastery with EFT?

The first EFT Healing Retreat held in Atlanta in May was a landmark event. It brought together 12 of the world’s top EFTers to work with 78 clients with a whole range of issues from cancer to PTSD, depression, sexual abuse, phobias and chronic illness.

The purpose was to discover what might happen over a 4 day period of intensive work with EFT, one on one, and in small groups using Borrowing Benefits?

Well, it was an amazing success and a learning experience which neither of us will ever forget, as well as a huge privilege to be there and part of such a healing experience.

Initial expectations were high - quite a few clients had 'tried everything', some were hoping for a miracle and seeing the Retreat as their last chance; and so part of our work as Masters was to help our clients to understand that while we might help them overcome unconscious blocks thereby initiating a healing process, it would be their journey to continue.

Within that context some amazing changes and breakthroughs came about. We saw over and over how removing a particular block at an emotional, spiritual or energetic level will allow the system’s own healing ability to express itself.

We also saw the great power of working with EFT in groups, not only through Borrowing Benefits, but also in the uncanny synchronicities that unfolded between people who might never have met in any other way, but came together over those 4 days and were joined in a spirit of love and shared intention.

EFT Newsletter - September 2008

Having returned from a beautiful two weeks in the Tuscan countryside where I spent my time relaxing with friends and family I am once again struck by the diversity of uses of EFT, and how seamlessly it has integrated into not just my life, but those of people around me.

From before we left the UK the tapping began, with one of the young guests, a friend of my daughter, suffering from an, until now unknown, fear of flying. So the tapping began -, but not by me. Instead my 14 year old took charge (considerably less awkward for her friend), and by the time the flight took off, she was not only smiling, but actively looking out of the window watching as we soared into the sky!

It is hard to remember a day when one of the party wasn't either tapping or asking me for EFT for a wide range of the inevitable holiday misfortunes, ranging from stubbed toes, to wasp stings, to homesickness, to anxiety about impending government exam results.

My reason for sharing this with you is not only one of amazement at observing the ease with which this group reached not for the Aspirin/Waspeze first, but for their, or someone else's, fingertips. How, as the first cry of pain from the wasp, the nearest person to the victim rushes over and starts tapping on them, and how wonderful the results were.

Whilst obviously this comes as no real surprise to me, I see the evidence all the time in my practice and our trainings, it did remind me of the versatility of this amazing tool and how, when Gary says 'Try It On Everything!' it is not a marketing ploy, but based on hard evidence of success.

Those of us working at Level 3, and the Masters, tend to attract the more complex client cases and perhaps are guilty of forgetting the more basic usages of EFT. This is not just a band-aid approach, the wasp stings, for example, stopped stinging permanently, the mosquito bites stopped itching, the swellings reduced.

Now I want to tell you that out of my party of 12 people, 8 of them were teenagers who, with the exception of my 3, had little or no experience or knowledge of EFT. Did they mind? Was it weird to them? No, not one bit.. no weirder than popping a foul tasting pill, or potion, and considerably easier and more agreeable!

Before going on this holiday a number of well meaning friends and clients warned me of the dreadful time I was going to have with 8 teenagers stuck in one villa, as it turned out a long walk from any form of city or night life. I would be exhausted, it would be so stressful, teenagers are a nightmare - so the comments, and I have to say advice, flowed my way.

This was not my expectation, nor experience. I can honestly say that I would go on holiday with a bunch of teenagers any day. They were good fun, entertained themselves, didn't wake me up in the morning (or indeed during the night!), they ate whatever was put in front of them and they were willing to muck in and help whenever needed - they even cooked!

Which led me to think, once again, about the power of beliefs. And in this case the power of the stereotype. We are all in danger of stereotypical judgments. How many times have you heard 'All teenagers are difficult', 'All British are tea drinkers', 'A 2 year old tantrum' (as if no other aged child ever loses their temper). These stereotypes, or generalisations, spread into all areas of our lives, just think about it, what do you say to yourself in this way?

Look at the following:
All football fans are hooligans
French men are great lovers
All Catholics feel guilty

I wont go on in case I cause offense. But the point is these generalisations become our beliefs, and in turn, our truths. Clients will come to you saying things like this, or the equivalent.: 'I have no friends' , 'I'm always unhappy' etc. Sounding familiar?

Do not let them get away with it, challenge these beliefs, they are probably automatic and go unquestioned. It is not enough to just tap on them and their origins, you want to begin by collapsing the structure of the belief itself alongside this. Ask them 'Is it true?', 'Really?'. If you have good rapport, you will quickly find times which prove the exception to the beliefs and this in itself will begin to destabilise them and allow the tapping to be even more effective, even faster.

In our Diploma in Integrated Energy Techniques we focus very much on language skills to enable the skilled therapist to dig far deeper into an issue faster, facilitating exciting lasting changework.

We offer students the wisdom of 20 years studying, practicing and teaching the best of what works. In a nutshell, this course is a distillation of what you need to know and master to be a really effective practitioner. And while it would take you years to accumulate this amount of knowledge and experience, here it is presented in a form which is learnable in months - and we teach in a way that will enable you to grasp complex material easily and effortlessly - you won't feel like you are learning!

In addition, our students benefit from carefully managed and supervised 'real' client sessions during their training, thus bridging the gap between theory and application.

EFT Newsletter - June 2008

We have just returned from Denver, Colorado where Emma was presenting her work on EFT and Cancer and Fertility at the Vibrational Approach to Pain and Physical Illness Workshop. The other presenters were Carol Look, Karl Dawson, Rue Hass, Rick Wilkes and traumatologist and neurologist Dr Robert Scaer - a 'dream team' who came together to deliver a groundbreaking event!

For me (Sue) it was a wonderful opportunity to observe, learn and immerse myself in the depth of knowledge, enthusiasm and passion of these pioneering colleagues who are leading the way in new approaches to health and healing. Each presenter contributed from their own heartfelt place their particular ideas with a great blend of theory, examples from client histories and practical demonstrations.

Highlights were Carol's profound work with six clients on stage and their 'ancestral pain', Emma's beautiful demonstration with a woman healing from cancer and addressing fertility issues, Karl's wonderful, elegant combination of EFT and Inner Child work, Rue's enlightening elucidation of the links between the highly sensitive temperament and illness and energy approaches to change, Rick Wilkes dynamic and powerful presentation on the vibrational scale and physical and emotional change - and certainly not to mention the outstanding trauma presentation by Dr Scaer (yes, really!) who outlined what happens in the brain in response to trauma (big or small T) in terms us non-medics could understand, and gave a great big thumbs up to the work we are doing with EFT to undo its effects.

So often as practitioners we are working in isolation and I felt particularly grateful to be given such a clear view of others work, realising how much we all learn by coming together to share learning and experience - thank you!

And so for me as an observer rather than a presenter it was a wonderfully peaceful and enriching experience - although I do have to admit to a certain amount of stress involved in watching close friends and colleagues from the UK perform. Apparently I was just like an England football manager on the sidelines and kicking every ball! Oh well, no doubt I could tap on it!
