How You Can Benefit From
Sports/Remedial & Therapeutic MassageMassage has been proven to help treat the following:
- Muscular aches and pains/sports injury/muscle strain
- Stress
- Depression
- Digestive disorders
- Bad circulation
- Headaches
- Insomnia
- Fatty tissue deposits
- Build up of waste products within the body.
- Deficit of natural feel good and pain-killing chemicals
When We First Meet...A brief consultation will take place with you to discuss your current health and relevant medical history. Your treatment will take into account the connections between lifestyle, mind and body.
Refreshed… Invigorated… Relaxed...During an effective massage, blood flushes through the capillaries and cleanses the body of toxins. Nutrients then flood the freshly massaged areas, strengthening the immune system.
- Muscle tissue becomes softer and able to function more efficiently. Body fat is broken up leaving the skin smoother and firmer.
- The nervous system is stimulated to release natural ‘feel good’ hormones and strong painkilling chemicals.
- Our aches and pains are eased and we feel calm, relaxed and at peace.
Sports/Remedial massage is ideal for those wanting relief from muscular discomfort or injury - it works deep into muscle fibres to melt away pain and accumulated tension.
Therapeutic massage is a softer style that focuses on promoting general relaxation and well-being. During the massage you will be shown relaxation techniques – easy methods that can be used again outside of clinic time to recall a deep sense of calm.
You will feel a heightened sense of ‘body awareness’ which can help you discover how much tension is being carried in your body. This can start you off on a journey to help you modify your own physical and emotional responses to stress.

Connective Tissue (CTM)Elisabeth Dicke, the pioneer of CTM (1929), was a Remedial Gymnastic Therapist. She developed the method to save her own leg from being amputated. After a few treatments, she noticed that the circulation in her leg had improved and that her muscle spasms were easing. She not only prevented amputation; after just three months she was able to walk again. CTM works between the muscles and connective tissue, through lymphatic and blood vessels that, combined with Sport and Therapeutic Massage, normalises muscle tone and elasticity. CTM works for all the muscles in the body.

Sports Remedial MassageThis therapy addresses pain, dysfunction and tension in the body via the soft tissues (muscles, tendons, ligaments).
It uses general massage along side specific methods of soft tissue release, including assisted stretching, strengthening exercises, neuromuscular and connective tissue techniques.
Posture and general use of the body is often an important consideration in evaluating the cause of the problem and achieving change.
Sports Remedial Massage can be used to prevent problems by bringing awareness to habitual patterns within the body, which can arise from sport, work or at home.
Conditions regularly treated:- Chronic postural problems
- R.S.I, neck, shoulder and back pain
- Post acute injury recovery
- General relaxation
