Chris Swain begun studying the art of hand reading in 1983. His research, studies and readings continued in Norwich under the direction of Terry Dukes and the Chirological Society.
For five years Chris worked full time as a Hand Reader and had a stall on Camden Market, London NW1. He has been featured by Hester Lacey in the Guardian. He continues to read hands privately, offering insights into an individual's elemental make up and how best to harmonise the four main areas of life (home, relationships, work and ideology) with one's constitution to create a more balanced and fullfilling life.
Chris lives in Hove, Sussex and works as an osteopath, yoga teacher, hand reader and writer.

This weekend course will enable you to learn the secrets of your hand and inspire you to read other people's hands. This is not a course based on gypsy traditions of prediction, but on the ability to read character types according to the principles of the five elements; Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether as used in the ancient medical traditions of India, Greece, China, Western Europe and the Arab world.
The knowledge of the elements is innate within us and indeed is a part of our everyday language; we all know what is meant by describingsomeone as either having a 'fiery temper', being 'airy fairy' or simply 'wet'.
Elemental handreading is a ancient science used fundamentally as a tool for self-knowledge so that we can know ourselves. This knowledge empowers us to direct our lives in a more skillful and wise manner so that we can maximise our health and harmonise ourselves with the world around us be it in terms of work, relationships or our spiritual path.
Insights into our hand can reveal hidden resources enabling us to lead a more fulfilling and creative life.
